The Fine Print
Trip Overview
Our trips are based on an 8-day experience with 7 nights of accommodation, designed to deliver exceptional skiing, seamless logistics, and a high level of personal attention. Our trips are targeted at folks looking for a backcountry oriented trip. Every guided day will be a ski touring based day with the possibility of a few lift assisted touring days depending on conditions. Each trip includes 6 full days of guiding with two certified ACMG guides, allowing for flexibility, safety, and the ability to adapt to conditions throughout the trip. We will have two vehicles at our disposal to allow for flexibility each day.
You will be responsible for making your own way to Japan for a planned rendezvous either in the Japanese Alps or Hokkaido. Once meeting, your transportation will be taken care of and we will check in to our hotel or ryokan for the first half of our trip. Breakfast and Dinner’s will be provided at the hotel and we will do grocery store or conbini runs daily to make sure you have enough delicious Japanese snacks for lunch on the skin track. Half way through the week we will move locations after our ski day, dinner will be out that night while on the road. After checking into our next stop and a good rest and maybe a hotspring, we will keep skiing for the rest of the week and drop you off at a convenient location to get you back to the airport on the final day. Hokkaido - Skiing, Sushi, Whiskey, and the powder paradise you’ve dreamed of.
Hokkaido, the north island of Japan, is home to some of the driest and most consistent snowfall in the world. Locations may include Niseko, Furano, Asahidake, and Hakodate. We will enjoy riding the playful Japanese birch forests as well as gorging ourselves on ramen and cooking ourselves silly in the hot springs. This is a trip you don’t want to miss!
The Japanese Alps - Unreal terrain, copious amounts of snow, and all the culture and onsen Japan is legendary for.
The Japanese alps have some of the largest terrain in Japan which enables us to do more than just your typical Japanese tree skiing. Get into the high alpine with us on this trip. Just an easy bus ride away from the bustling streets of Tokyo, the Japanese Alps offer your standard Japanese powder along with big terrain for when the stability is good and the sun is out. We will enjoy hot springs and great food while we aren’t on the hills. It will be another incredible trip!
